I would suggest that Australia, amongst one of the most generous refugee intake nations in the western OECD nations, take the MOST endangered refugees, those with the least likelihood of safe return when the situation settles (Christian, Zadiki and other minority groups) from Syria, commensurate proportionately (per head of population and GDP) with those of Saudi Arabia, Quata, United Arab Emirates and the other gulf states. I think that would be fair and reasonable.

Clearly, Australia should take some of these desperate people, to relieve the burden on Europe. Perhaps then, we can wait to see if the Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, Iran, take a proportionate number of people as well.
