About 500-1000 men were executed when Srebrenica fell, for their part in massacring well over 2,000 Serb civilians in the Srebrenica area in the 18 months prior to the event. The rest were mostly killed in combat in their attempt to escape through the forests.

Even the 8,000 figure is a fraud. It was a convenient political figure latched on to, to give the Clinton administration its much sought after justification to bomb Serbia and, in the wider picture, destroy Yugoslavia – the last functioning socialist society in Europe.

Thanks to the sacrosanct aura that now surrounds that particular Srebrenica massacre (as opposed to all the other massacres that took place in the context of the Serb-Bosnian conflict), the West has a cast-iron R2P privilege to bomb, destabilise and invade whichever side its vested interests dictate.

That's exactly correct, it wasn't a "genocide" it was a battle, most of the casualties among Islamist fighters occurred during an attempt to break out of the siege, then there were revenge attacks against male civilians after the fall of the town. The NATO commanders at the time could see what was about to happen, that the Srebrenica garrison was using the safe haven as a base from which they raided local Serb towns, massacring thousands and that the Serb militiamen whose families had been murdered were bound to take revenge upon the Muslims. What people like Jed don't understand is that the Bosnian Islamists and the foreign Jihadis (Chechens, Arabs, Asians) in the Balkans during the 1990's were behaving just like Al Nusra or Boko Haram do today, they even murdered other "moderate" Muslims who refused to align with the Izedbegovich regime.
