There is no justification for the ever-expanding tax burden. Living standards for all groups of society have risen over the last fifty years, which means the need for government welfare services has declined.

Join a group like the CEC who have a policy of Govt owned banks.

Care to explain what it means?

Because as you mention that 'G' word, to a lay person like myself this advice sounds like "sell your soul to the devil"!

Another question, please excuse my boorishness: Doesn't the government own the banks already?

Arjay, our central bank is in public ownership, as are the central banks of nearly every other country.

Aidan, very little is publically owned. Notice how our Govt Depts all have ABN's ? ie Aust Business Numbers.

Arjay, the RBA is among the "very little" that is publicly owned.

And I don't think ABNs say anything about ownership.
