Freedom in martyrdom : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 14/4/2015

Starting with the arbitrary division of the region by Western powers, the wars, revolutions, and scores of violent conflicts that followed have added layer upon layer of deep resentment and hatred.

thanks Alon for another thought-provoking, if depressing, article. We may not agree with the Arab street's view of the West; but it is important to understand it.

This whole article is complete BS.

Muslims (and Arabs in particular) complaining about colonialism, is like Nazis complaining about racism. Arabs may have been taught since birth that nothing is ever their fault, and all of their problems are caused by somebody else, but that is simply a measure of their immaturity, is has little basis in fact.

Islam is a fascist religion which prospered when it had the power to expand into other people's countries, steal their wealth, and make slaves of the population. But it has no relevance in the modern world. It no longer sits between the trading blocs of China, India, Europe, and Africa and it no longer can extort tribute or monopolises world trade. Muslims have to get off their butts and engage in a bit of objective thinking, something which their religion forbids them to do. So there they sit stagnating and hating everyone who creates successful societies, and blaming everybody else for their woes.

The European power "arbitrarily" created the modern Arab nations because somebody had to do it, and the Arabs were never going to do it themselves. Even today, if they don't like the "arbitrary" divisions of Arabia, they are free to change them themselves. But they can never achieve that, because they just can't stop squabbling among themselves, and no one is willing to take a subservient role to anybody else to achieve the dream of pan Arab unity.

All they can do is sit around hating and dreaming of some way to gate crash into a western country, not to learn from their new fellow citizens how to think straight, but instead to try and impose their already failed civilisation on their hosts. Israel is just an excuse to justify their hostility to the European people who now seem to be the primary source of income to the Arab beggars. 50% of Muslims in Europe are on the dole. Beggars may despise the people who give them succour, because their benefactors are an unwelcome reminder of their own failings.

This article states
<The West owes many of the Arab states, especially those with overwhelmingly poor populations such as Egypt, the financial and technical support needed to embark on sustainable economic development projects that empower the people. Poor, hungry, and despairing youth need food even before freedom, and job opportunities, healthcare, and education before meaningless elections.>

Do the Saudi Arabia sheiks, who own banks in countries around the
world not owe these poor Arabs in Egypt, job opportunites, healthcare
and education etc.

America has no doubt, furthered it's interests in the middle EAst
but it was still possible for the people to set up good and
kind societies.
The Priests and Imans and radical isLamist nuts in those countries
are the ones that have bought about the poverty and misery
of their people. The author of this article should try having
10kids and see how they like the poverty and misery than ensues.
