By Tim Harcourt, published 3/3/2015

And as the Prince Phillip 'knightmare' incident showed Australia’s constitutional arrangements are an anachronism, and need updating.

Well argued, and more power to your pen Tim!

And I believe I will succumb to temptation; and get into the knighty, and say, knighty Knight to Knightly Knighthoods.

Sir Lancelot used his lance a lot; and following that line of reasoning, we know just how Camelot inherited it name, and something it would seem, or a right royal tradition?

It needs to be toned down a bit, least we are forced to say in the not too distant future, instead of coming he went? And I know that you know what I mean.

You say, " Not only would it be great to have ‘one of us’ as our head of state it would be beneficial to have a head of state who fully acted in Australia’s economic interests and not those of a direct competitor."

Well we do have 'one of us' as HoS. He's the GG. A true Aussie and he fully acts in "Australia’s economic interests and not those of a direct competitor." He has the full power (not the queen) over our affairs. He acts (as does the Queen of Australia) only on the advice of Australian ministers. And if we want to send him to China, we can ... Where he will be received as a HoS with a 21 gun salute, Royal Guard and the full red carpet.

What's your problem?

It is also worth noting that one of the early Royal Governors was told to ensure that the release of land to new settlers was to be limited 'as to ensure a maximum return to the Crown through royalties'

Sure we need 'one of us' as the HoS. But what we need to understand is that a Monarch is only able to exist if we all truly believe that the Royal family and ALL it's Aristocratic family members - which number in their thousands because linage with European Royals - are born into a higher caste than the rest of us.....

To ensure we have our own HoS, all we have to manage is to enshrine in our constitution that all Australians are born equal and none can be accorded any privilege or right over us through a birthright or lineage.

ie Monarch is no more because for it to be recognized as such our Laws have to acknowledge it has privilege and rights above our lowly commoner selves.

Equality for all = No more Monarchy as HoS
