By Romain Quivooij, published 24/11/2014

Not all foreign fighters return radicalised - many return disillusioned.

Its a worry that IS is propping up the economy of much of Iraq and Syria as it actually sells oil to the Syrian Government and to Turkey.

On another issue, when:

- members of our armed forces fight in the Middle East

- Jewish-Australians fight in the Israeli Army or join Mossad or take out extra passports for Mossad, or

- members of our armed forces moonlight in insurgencies, like in Burma

should the Foreign Incursions Act also apply to these NON-MUSLIMS or is that Act really nudge-nudge-wink-wink aimed at MUSLIMs?

In response to Bazz

And what about excursions/barging in to other's home by your so called defence and killing them, humiliating, inhuman treatment and that too based on concocted, made up /cooked up/bastardly lies. And when someone's families are killed ,by whosoever, you want them not to worry and just enjoy land grabbed by invaders. It is their business to side with anyone they want and not for others to meddle with as it is their pain and how they want to tackle it is their choice.Day is not far when those who were sent by these countries to fight and kill others will turn their back on their own countries on return after they have witnessed reasonless killings and devastation as happened in Vietnam,Iraq and everywhere else? Let us be human not like these bastards who surrounded with the top class security for self and family ,their children are no where to be seen around on danger area while they shed crocodile tears on others life lost, battered.

Any idea what bulla is on about ?

I think he is complaining about the Foreign Excursion Act.
That is there to prevent Australian citizens from compromising Australian neutrality.

In the case of Iraq the Iraq government could complain that Australia is sending soldiers
to fight the Kurds and the Iraq army.
The Australian army as distinct from civilians is there at the invitation of Iraq.

I agree with Rhosty in spades. Best solution is to kill the ISIS volunteers in the field, next best is to lock them out of Australia for life. The lesson is to tighten up on right to enter and remain in Australia, depending not on ethnicity or manner of getting here and not primarily on wealth or skills but on willingness to contribute to Australia as a country worth migrating to rather than fleeing from. This means commitment to the individual liberties embodied in the Enlightenment and defended in the 1939-45 war against fascism. No commitment no acceptance. Placards or social media declarations proclaiming hatred of freedom from, not only for, any religious cult to serve as one-way tickets out.

What a joke?"Neutrality" and why Australia's their excursion is not same and cowardly act. They go where the masters orders and all wars they participated in did not have anything to do with Australia. They went to Turkey,Vietnam,Iraq and everywhere as stooges of British and America.
