I tend to agree with you on most of your assertions, however your views as to whether or not they (animals) have any concept of longevity, old age and death, I'm not so sure ? Certainly fear is evident as well as several other basic emotions, but I'm not sufficiently appraised of equine behaviour to pass any consummate opinion. I do suspect the ravages of old age are evident, as they are with other animal species.
I share absolutely, your views on cruelty and appropriate punishments should be inordinately harsh. I strongly agree with your opinions on these do-gooders and other far left weirdos, that permeate all levels of our existence. But as I stated in my earlier thread, Horse Racing is a great vehicle for criminals to launder vast quantities of cash, therefore there's no limit, as to what measures they might take in order to preserve this excellent facility.
