By John Pilger, published 22/9/2014

There are times when farce and living caricature almost consume the cynicism and mendacity in the daily life of Australia's rulers.

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the vilest, horse manure shoveling by the shipload, meticulously mendacious, caricature of them all?

For once I agree with Pilger.

While Clive Palmer holds the defacto power of Prime Minister - Action Man Abbott has become Minister for War.

Abbott has used the tried and true formula employed by Howard and organisations like religion: fear-mongering. Keep the natives unsettled, focus their fear to a certain direction/area/group/minority, and screw them while their attention is occupied. Abbott began with the budget, then substituted with terror threats, enabling authorities to arrest anyone they want, hold them without charge, and use torture with impunity. The lucky country?

The lucky country?
HereNow,
No, it became the stupid country under Labor but luckily now under Abbott we're slowly becoming the sensible country.

A "statistically representative perception management programme" undertaken at the behest of vested interests...nothing more than that folks. We are all being taken for a ride, so roll up & get aboard the Labor/Liberal/Green/PUP wagon, or whatever flavoured camel you happen to ride...Crown Government manipulation of the masses via your daily meal of MacMurdoch Happy Meals.

Here Now:
>torture with impunity<
That's completely illegal!
Suggest you provide one single concrete/proven example, here in Oz (bet you can't) or, retract and apologize for that quite blatant mischievous mendacity.
Least someone follow your now easily accessed electronic trail, and hits you, (or the internet cafe you're using) with an expensive libel suit?
Got a spare 50 grand laying around?
And that's what'll cost just to defend, and before any judgment is recorded!

RHOSTY "Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the vilest, horse manure shoveling by the shipload, meticulously mendacious, caricature of them all? That's a bit steep I have always thought of John Pilger as being funny but without being vulgar.

I'm sure John Pilger actually means well, apart from making good money from just saying the things he says. I'd like John Pilger to work with us in the communities for a year. I can guarantee that he'd change his rhectoric with a little actual experience rather than listening to those who gain profit from feigned indignation.

HereNow,

Are you suggesting that there is a criminal conspiracy involving various Police chiefs, Heads of Government Departments and MPs, both Government and Opposition to cause the arrest and false charge/imprisonment of innocent people; hope not!

hope not!
is Mise,
I'd hope not either but if it were to be found to be so I would not be the least surprised.

In response to isMise, I have developed a skeptics view to the actions of authorities due to an horrific chain of events I survived at the hands of several government departments who collaberated to torment a man they knew was innocent. I fought for survival. The trauma will stain me for life. I learned that authorities will do anything to anyone to achieve their goal, stop the truth, and/or make the innocent scapegoats.

When you give up freedoms/rights to those with ulterior motives you have already lost. There have been no terror attacks on this country - the post 9/11 laws have been adequate.

HereNow,

Given the climate of Australian politics and the number of MP's heads that have recently rolled, can you imagine top NSW, Qld and Federal police entering a criminal conspiracy to prop up a politician?

Perhaps the Victorian Police Commissioner is in on it as well and two policemen were not stabbed at all and the clown that stabbed them is not dead.
Maybe the medical authorities are in it as well and it's all bull that policemen were treated for stab wounds.
Then there's all the media rivals telling the same story.
