Ah, they do strange things in Queensland which us lesser mortals will never comprehend.

Hold your horses critics, we might get some justice for a chance. The Police officers (not mere Cops) I speak with are very much in favour of this man as he is seen as a down-to-earth kind of a man unlike those of recent.

Wow, after years of lefty appointments to the judiciary, Sheenal doesn't like the idea of someone not of the lefty club getting the nod.

Then to mention Tony Fitzgerald, the greatest megalomaniac Australia has been naming Newman as such is almost too much.

Come on love, do try to get real.

Individual :
The police service in Qld favour Tim Carmody because he is a down to earth kind of man ?
The issue is not egalitarianism , mate , it is corruption .
Aren't the police service and the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Qld both in bed with 2014's version of the corrupt Jo Bjelkie Peterson Government , which required the Fitzgerald Inquiry to dismantle the corruption ?

Oz,
You're right it is corruption that needed to be addressed & it is being done, Labor is out for a start & Labor cronies are being gradually weeded. Fitzgerald has no credibility among those with integrity. Also, please do not for get the corruption tactics of Goss, Beatty & the Beatty controlled Bligh. There was more coruption within Qld labor than old Joh could have ever mustered & a lot of that corruption is still in place within the labor saturated pulic service.
What about the dubious workings of the CMC & the CjC post Fitzgerald ? Talk about incompetence & more than likely corruption also. Look at the legal system ? Of coruse Carmody will be like a fresh Breeze after the last lot & I only they're (lawyers & Magistrates) not manipulating him into poor performance. Once Newman is out & another conservative leader takes the reigns Qls should at least in theory get back on the track that Labor ripped up. Why Newman hasn't removed the many incompetent & corrupt Labor cromies from the public service is beyond most of those who supported him the first time round. Sadly for him he has now lost most of that support because of his failure to remove these money wasting vermin.

Individual .
Sorry to keep you waiting .You certainly pumped out a lot of opinion there , but you didn't bother to SUPPORT it with particular facts or reasoned argument .
I personally oppose Carmody's appointment as being unsuitable because of the constitutional requirement of Separation of Powers (Legislature , Executive & Judiciary) and of Independence of the Judiciary .Governance in our democracy cannot work properly without that minimum requirement .
Newman is reported as saying he thought that stuff was an American (US) idea , which it is , but it is also an Australian requirement .
Carmody quite unnecessarily chose to go out of his way to side with the Government in its tussle with the Judiciary over the government's controversial law & order legislation program .
That damaged the perception of Carmody's judicial INDEPENDENCE from the government , colouring him as compliant with the government on that issue .
His appointment , in those circumstances , violated the requirement of SEPARATION of government & judiciary , and of INDEPENDENCE of the latter & was , for that reason , illegitimate .
