What do guys expect? She's a left-wing human rights lawyer, an academic, a yank, and ummm, heaven-forbid-it a w..... with a gawky smile. I like the idea of Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese UN Peacekeeping troops in Iraq. It would provide practice for World War Three. Anyone serious about the ISIS Crisis would be reading http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/view.asp?article=16422 :-P Pete Posted by plantagenet, Monday, 23 June 2014 3:25:01 PM

And who is to say that the situation in Iraq today is not exactly the situation envisaged and desired when the destabilization began a decade and more ago?
Iraq was invaded after a decade of destabilizing sanctions. It was sent to to hell in a handcart. Syria was fractured, and this new group of jihadist nutcases was engendered in the cause of Bashar al-Assad regime change. Now both Iraq and Syria are broken into bite-sized pieces. Will the Kurds be allowed to keep their newly won homeland in northern Iraq? Turkey and Iran might have something to say about that as such a development could be considered contagious. There are sizable numbers of Kurds in both countries. And throughout this time it has been known, if almost never acknowledged, that Iran is the key. Do we want to encourage stability in that part of the world? Talk to Iran. And why don't we? Israel doesn't want us to. And why is that? Who is it again who wants that part of our world reduced to bite-sized pieces? The dots are all there, and it's really not all that hard to connect them. Jardine K Jardine why have Bush, Blair, Howard, Downer and others not been convicted of war crimes,? they should be, is it because they sit on the so called "right side of the fence" how do these people sleep at night with all of the killing of innocent people that they caused in the first place, or do they think it was not me being killed so why should I worry, we only make the rules for others to kill in our name.

US INVADES EUROPE 6th June, 1944.
Seven Hundred French civilians were killed today when US Forces invaded Europe. Opposition to the invasion was running high. “We are dying for no reason” said a French citizen who spoke to reporters only on the condition of anonymity. “ I hate to say this, but life was better under Hitler.” The invasion has caused severe environmental damage. American troops, trucks, tanks and machinery have destroyed miles of pristine French shoreline and thousands of acres of ecologically sensitive wetlands. It is believed that the home of a unique species, the Spineless French Frog, was destroyed in the process, threatening the species with extinction. A representative of Greenpeace, said that his organization, which tried to prevent the invasion, was appalled at the destruction, but not surprised. “This is an example of how the US military destroys the environment without a second thought”, said Christine Moanmore, “and it is all about corporate greed.” Contacted in his Manhattan condo, a member of the French Government-in-exile who fled France when disciplined soldiers of the German government occupied it, said the US invasion was all about protecting US financial interests. “Everyone knows that President Roosevelt has ties to Big Beer”, said Pierre LeWimp. “Once the German beer industry has been conquered, Roosevelt and his beer cronies will control the world market and make a fortune.” Administration supporters claimed that the aggressive US actions were based in part upon the assertions of controversial Jewish scientist Albert Einstein who has speculated that the German Government was secretly developing a so called “atomic bomb.” Such a weapon could produce casualties on a scale never seen before and cause environmental damage which could last for thousands of years. But the German leader, Adolf Hitler, has denied having such a weapon and international inspectors were unable to locate this weapon, even after spending two long weekends in a German beergarten looking for them. Mistreatment of Jews at so called “concentration camps” has been rumoured but remains unproven. But many reports by "independent investigators" have surfaced that captured German soldiers "rendered" by the Americans to allied countries for incarceration without trial. Amnesty International has denounced the US for not providing lawyers for hundreds of thousands of German soldiers and for not specifying what crimes they committed to warrant incarceration. Several thousand US soldiers died in the first few days of the invasion and French officials are concerned that the thousands of rotting corpses pose a serious public health risk. “The Americans should have planned for this in advance”, they said. “ It is their mess and we don’t propose to clean it up.” It is believed that the USA also intends to invade Germany and topple the legitimate and elected government of that country, headed by the very popular Adolph Hitler. New York Times reporter Brian Ross has demanded to know "by what right does the US think they have to invade Germany?" Posted by LEGO, Monday, 23 June 2014 6:17:08 PM

So the USA is going to "usher in change we can all believe in" in Iraq?
Trying to get stuff from people by threatening to attack them is self-centred; defending their right to be free of aggression is not. You've got it back-the-front.
