The USA cannot get away with its usual bully boy tactics. The Russian Bear will not be messed with and Putin is too smart for them.

The USA cannot win their illegal wars in Vietnam ,Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq. They have no chance against Russia.

Exactly!
I mean, the US and Europe/NATO etc, need only stop buying Russian oil and gas to change Putin's mind, always providing he still has one?
What does he gain having acquired new gas or oil fields, if his energy customer base shrinks by around 90%?
Threaten to withhold his oil and gas resources, leaving his former customers, with no other choice but to develop viable and permanent alternatives? Excellent choice!
Putin needs to remind himself, that he only holds power while Russian citizens have full bellies and warm abodes during Russian winters!
His eyes need to be looking at multiple threats far closer to home, and a seething bed of internal unrest!
Why even the Russian army marches on a full belly!
And they won't be used to control Russian dissidents? But likely mutiny, if those same dissidents are their mothers or fathers, sisters or brothers!?
Putin's actions are a bridge too far! You are only as strong as your weakest link!

Russian actions have provided a backstop for a rare event - exercise of the right of populations under international law[1] to self-determination. One such ballot has been held, and there is clamour for more. What a howl of rage this has brought from the Kiev Nazis and collaborators, and the permanent governments of America, Europe and Britain. Yet this is the central issue in the cobbled-together "nation" of Ukraine.

The last time this happened was when NATO made it possible for the oppressed Kosovars to elect their own government despite the screeches of protest from the defeated Serb racists and the roars of impotent rage from Russia.

Different geopolitical sides, same basic issue - right of self-determination. What a gain it will be for world peace and freedom it will be if and when the people of Tibet, Chechnya, East Turkestan, West Papua, Kashmir, North Ceylon and other captive nations gain their freedom from the self-appointed "men born to rule"!
