Mardi Gras: but not for everyone : Comments

By Jamie Taylor, published 14/3/2014

Same-gender attracted is a term that he uses, not homosexual, gay or queer. For him it is a disposition that he has but he does not want it to define or prescribe who he is.

The Mardi Gras is a major draw-card in Sydney.
It now ranks as a high-income earner and tourist
attraction for the city. Of course it also
is a celebration of the homosexual community -
"We're queer, we're here," get used to it!

I don't understand though what a male's decision
to remain celibate - has to do with the Mardi Gras?
After all one isn't obliged to take part in it - if
one doesn't approve of what the Festival is celebrating.
