I admit that I DO assume that the kind of universal notions of freedom, equality and open thinking leading to science were primarily developed in western nations over centuries.
I believe these notions of the nature of the individual and of society and freedoms that is in theory (at least) in the west one where all campaigns to end wrong such as slavery etc. have only ever started in such a cultural and ethical petri-dish at least that is the genuine ones.
And I make no excuses for claiming that these notions which hold that all life is sacred and all individuals are existentially equals and society should strive towards instituting culture which fosters this behaviour and beliefs.
That is to say IF you wish to disagree then HOW can anyone argue for human rights and fundamental freedoms and human decency?
Only the notions of equality etc. developed first in the west can serve to bring about human equality and decent standards.
My main arguments ALWAYS is that the Left in the west agrees with me but does not openly admit it and also tells non-westerners the opposite.
They are liars.
