Labor has a big task to become competitive again : Comments

By Geoff Robinson, published 29/11/2013

For Labor to take solace from the retention of electorates such as Greenway and Parramatta is to confuse debate ‘victories’ with real political successes. Disillusionment with Labor was general.

No you're completely wrong the thing that will make Labour competitive again is the Lib's. We have already seen Labour bounce, this government already looks like the worst government Australia has ever seen.......

An excellent article Geoff.

Streets ahead of the avalanche of Feature's this month. In addition to the other challenges for Labor that you identify, Labor seems to lack colourful, charismatic leaders that equal the vote-winning Hawke and even Keating of the past.

I'd say a Hawke would win against Abbott. Shorten has a personable something but may not be a winner.

Abbott-Bishop's foreign affairs style has drawn criticism from the centrist-left intelligentsia (including most journalists). However Abbott-Bishop are actually aiming their pitch at the 50%+ electorate who don't like Indonesia-boatpeople and don't normally want to hear about yet another boat.

The east China Sea standoff is also too far removed from concerns of the domestic orientated electorate.

BTW the bio-link to your blog currently-unfortunately doesn't work. It should have the "www" making it the working http://www.geoffrobinson.info/

Cheers

Pete

the only change that will count
is giving..the vote subsidy..thing..to..each-member
for every vote cast..not the secretary/or..bag/man..nor treasurer of the party

stop mr bigs power/players..
getting at..and controlling/the money

stop the lobby
bribing..govt members/public servants

ban party loyalty/over loyalty to..SERVE/the land/people/
serve..the living trust..not dead corperative/mouth-pieces..nor special intrests..not ol school chums..[not private/family trusts]

party loyalty=treason
