Corruption in Chinese eyes : Comments

By Xue Wang, published 6/5/2013

Punishing individuals seems to be a universal way of tackling corruption. As long as the highly centralized system remains in China though, corruption is unavoidable.

This fine article illustrates the truth of modern China. Unless there is a re-establishment of a universal moral code in China I am not sure how corruption will ever be reduced. Perhaps some type of spiritual revolution would lead to the lessening of corruption. It can happen. Fa Lun Da Fa was so popular before it was suppressed. It indicates there is an unfulfilled yearning for the establishment of common spiritual values in China. It will probably be drawn from Buddhist and Daoist roots as is Fa Lun Da Fa. It is a pity that Fa Lun Da Fa is so sectarian otherwise it would have wider appeal.

Yes, the only antidote to materialism is spirituality. Without spirituality, one may pretend to be moral, but has no real reason to forego one's material interests if they can get away with it.

Of course there is corruption and we should give credit that the Chinese Government tries to combat it.
But put it in perspective; look at the infrastructure development in China it seems to me progressing every year while we ‘re still talking about the fast train development between Sydney and Melbourne. Btw. what happens with the second Sydney Airport?
In other words if corruption is so bad, they won’t be able to achieve that growth.

You seem to know the solution, Liberal Democracy?
Just for your information: According to Corruption Perception Index 2012:
Philipppine ranks 105, Indonesia: 118, India: 94.
China: 80.
Those countries are compatible, only China has a different Government system.
I’m not advocating to the contrary, but why can’t we accept that each country must find its own way to govern instead us pontificating the superiority of our system
