The article is correct with cruising, Cyclospora virus joined us on a Princess cruise from Perth to the Asia region and back, the Princess cruise management new this virus was on board during the previous cruise but as mentioned the turn around of the boat had to be quick, consequently most passengers on our cruise picked up the virus and suffered most of the time during our cruise, it then continued on into the cruise after ours.
Cyclospora is a very nasty virus, it being one celled and is new, normally the only way to get rid of it is by a visit to your own doctor who then recommends the correct treatment, but be warned you may think you are free of it, but it has a nasty habit of returning, this could last up to three months after being infected, so it is not the three day virus
The cause is contaminated food being brought on board, as we know Asian countries do not care what they grow their vegetables in,human excrement, the boat new they were at fault because they rescinded all doctors visits by the passengers on this cruise but never ever admitted they were at fault, a class action was being considered but be reminded to read the small print.
We will never cruise Princess line again but have cruised with others companies with no problems occurring.
