They'd better hurry. History is moving inexorably against them and will in time dump Zionism in the same bin as its twin brother Apartheid. Increasingly they're rumbled.

The Palestinians held a democratic election and Hamas won.
The fools in the Palestinian Authority refused to accept the Hamas win and, traitors to the core, split the Palestinians, a split that was encouraged and enabled by Crazy Benny and America. Now, with elections under way in Israel, we could have Israel likely to move even further to the right and the region moving ever closer to a nuclear war over Iran. Meanwhile the occupation of the West Bank and the blockade of Gaza continues along with the IDF shooting and killing Palestinians when they feel like it. Then, in the midst of all this, we have the Singer gloating over the deepening divide in the Palestinian ranks and the increasing power of Israel. Talk about bizarre. Obviously a nuclear war doesn't worry him! P.S. If you check out www.desertpeace.wordpress.com you'll get the truth about Israel. The blog is written by an American who lives in the region and tells the truth about Israel, something very rare. Posted by David G, Tuesday, 22 January 2013 8:31:55 AM

Bayit Hayehudi is not a new political party. It has existed under its current name since 2008 and is actually an amalgamation of older parties. It has three seats in the outgoing Knesset.

Well, all that is said is possible!
The main problem for Palestinians are, they are a divided rabble! They had an election and Hamas won? As far as I know, Gaza doesn't speak for all Palestine? And very big frog in extremely small puddle, Hamas, seems to be rigidly resisting any new round, of now overdue elections? Why? Because these gun totting, warmongering thugs, who make war own their own people, would lose any genuine election, and they know it! There's a large Arab minority living in Israel as Israeli citizens. Some think it's a good idea to boycott the upcoming Israeli elections!? What? Seriously? If the intellectually challenged proponents of this extraordinarily obtuse idea, had a brain between them, it'd be very lonely? Moreover, you could probably put it in a thimble and it would still rattle? Even though, they'd control something like 23% of the parliament. And given the internal division in Israel, 23% is a very powerful hand indeed. Every Arab should get out and vote for Arab candidates? Why? Because, I believe the two state solution is now dead! If the Palestinians posses a brain between them, they will knuckle under, become solid law abiding citizens, and simply wait until they become the electoral majority. In the interim, they can cause considerable consternation and much behavioural change! Just by applying selective commercial boycotts! Over and over! As an electoral majority that speaks with just one truly united voice, they will control Israel, the Israeli military, and the military weapons stockpile; as soon as 2020? Their national anthem ought to be, united we stand, divided we fall, even with our backs against the wall, we stand together, forever and ever, etc, etc! [In the pages of history, seven years is but a nanosecond!] Ain't democracy wonderful? Well, it could be if Palestinians stopped their endless stupid self defeating internal war, stopped the useless costly and counter-productive aimless rocket fire; and stood together as a completely united people, that speaks with just one voice; and indeed, fully utilise the peaceful power they already own! All of it! Rhrosty. Posted by Rhrosty, Tuesday, 22 January 2013 12:02:34 PM

And you wonder why the Palestinians throw rockets are your lot.
Singer why don't you criticise the Jewish Home Party? They are out and out land thieves and war mongers. Posted by imajulianutter, Tuesday, 22 January 2013 4:30:05 PM

David G:
“The Palestinians held a democratic election and Hamas won” And that was the end of the democracy experiment in Palestine. I remind you that the National Socialists also came to power in a democratic election, ending the democracy in Germany at the time. Winning democratic elections does not mean you are democratic. “...[the Hamas-PA split] was encouraged and enabled by Crazy Benny and America” I assume by “Crazy Benny” you are referring to Benjamin Netanyahu. Unfortunately your timeline is off. Netanyahu was in the opposition and did not become Prime Minister until 2009, well after the split between Hamas and Fatah. It pays to research before making silly comments. “…the IDF shooting and killing Palestinians when they feel like it” Not to mention Hamas firing rockets at Israeli civilians whenever they feel like it, or sending suicide bombers into Israeli cities. Oh wait, you really did not mention it. What a surprise. You also mention www.desertpeace.wordpress.com to back up your claims. Steve Amsel, the editor of that blog, is a communist who ran for federal election in Canada and attracted a grand total of some 50 votes. That’s from all of Canada… Shows you how popular and widely accepted the guy is. He resides in an area of Jerusalem claimed to be occupied territory by the Palestinians, but this does not seem to bother him much. Do you have anything else to back up your arguments, other than relying on such extreme fringe elements of society? Posted by Avw, Tuesday, 22 January 2013 8:34:29 PM

There was much more to the elections in Gaza than you would have us believe. It certainly wasn't an election like we think of as an election. In true Arab style they even threw people off buildings.
