The Lowy Institute's dangerous nuclear propaganda : Comments

By Jim Green, published 28/12/2012

A close looks at the Lowy Institute's work in relation to uranium sales to India suggests it is a dangerous, reactionary propaganda outfit.

I blame that blabber-mouth Martin Ferguson.

Australia, by selling outside the NPT, is prostituting itself.

Indian democracy and nukes do not mix. The Indian response is to just baton-charge and shoot the protestors - two dead so far, one on 21 April 2011, another on 10 September 2012.

What a horror story, just to fill the coffers of some corrupt capitalists in Australia.

david f."...your statements are false." He offers no argument to how they are false. In the debate over Iran's supposed nuclear program, show us where in the popoular media Israel's 200+ nukes are mentioned. How can we have this double standard of Iran who just defended itself against Iraq since WW2 and the USA/Israel who have interferred with internal politics and attacked over 50 countries in that same time.

You seem to forget the US Liberty incident of 1967 when Israel attacked this clearly marked unarmed intellignece ship and tried to get the USA to attack Egypt. Many were killed and injured. The USA had nuclear weapons on the way to bomb Egypt until they learned the truth. It was all covered up until the late 90's when the official doucments were released. How can we trust Israel over Iran when they such long history of war treachery and oppression of the Palistinians.

There is also evidence in Fallugah Iraq that the USA has been using some sort of new small nuke.Prof Chis Busby has found evidence of this in women's hair. They were trying to find out why birth defects in Fallujah were so bad.Busby first thought it was the Depleted Uranium but found evidence of slightly enriched Uranium. He supposed some sort of Neutron Bomb.Do your own research.Google Busby and Fallujah.

Keep believing the official media david f,so you can live safely in your own delusions.

Dear Arjay,

I mentioned a specific statement that you made that was false. You claimed that nobody says anything about Israel's not signing the NPT. That is false and remains false. You are someone who claims we are fed lies. It is reasonable that you would therefore be careful before you make statements yourself to be sure they are factual. It is also reasonable that you admit when you are wrong.

There are real conspiracies, but to claim every event is a conspiracy makes you like the little boy who cried 'wolf.'

Jim Green is sticking a finger in a dam which already has too many holes in it. None of his revelations about nuclear programs in Japan, South Korea etc are new. Israel has some 200 nuclear warheads positioned in various parts of the country. As for India, it would be crazy to disarm at this point where there are unresolved border disputes with China going back to the 1962 war between the countries and while China still lays claim to large swathes of Indian territory.

You have missed the point.

There is no reason why border disputes need to be resolved by nuclear weapons.

The fact that revelations are not new, does not mean that they are acceptable.

By exporting uranium outside the NPT (only for crass commercial reasons) debases Australia's moral standing in these matters.

Once an international agreement is in place - it must be honoured for the good of all. This is not restricted to the nuclear issue, and nuclear issues are not exempt.

I think you all need to realise that there is serious evidence that the USA has been using strategic nuclear weapons already. This opens up a whole new paradigm in warfare. If the USA thinks it has the edge then so it will be more inclined to go to war.We only have to see their philosophy of pre-emptive war has taken us now.The West has invaded Afghanistan,Pakistan,Lybia and Iraq which was based on a lie.The West seems hell bent on antagonising China and Russia.China has won the peace while the West languishes in debt. The West only has weapons left and we are the greatest danger to world peace at the moment.

They now want to attack Syria and Iran under a lie.Which country or countries are the obivious aggressors? Who has India invaded recently?
