Another misunderstanding by the international community was to think that women would be loyal to other women by dint of the fact that they share the same sex.

A refreshing retake on standard analyses that could be taken further, and applied back to 'western' societies, for instance by asking how many women are actually happier now than fifty years ago. Are the 'heroines' of Sex and the City actually happy! Here's a proposition - strengthen the family against the state and women will automatically gain more power and clout. Yes, I know this is contrary to the theory that women have suffered five thousand years of patriarchal dominance within the family. I just happen to think this theory is a nifty invention of the captains of industry and the social service bureaucracies who have obtained bucketloads of female labour power which has been withdrawn from children. Their cost - having a few token females in the House and on boards of directors, etc. Meanwhile, having sown the wind we are already reaping the whirlwind, in the ever increasing levels of social dysfunctionality permeating everywhere. One partial answer is to re-invest child-rearing with honour (as well as economic returns, not necessarily monetary) to a level where the great majority of women refuse to put their kids in child care centres because they want to be there with them, and understand the nature of the theft being perpetrated if they are not.
