By Bruce Haigh, published 26/10/2012

Wed this to his conservative Christian beliefs and he becomes a crusader, using religion as a shield from criticism and to mask his real persona.

Shockadelic, Hitler was a devout catholic, there again you may not have heard of the Inquisition, not a nice time for non catholic believers and atheists.

Rhosty,

If worse came to worse, and the Coalition panics, i doubt they would go back to Turnbull; Hockey more likely.

Thanks, Kipp for "enlightening" me.
Was Hitler a "devout" Catholic, or just a photo-op one?
Whatever, his regime was certainly not devoutly Christian.
Communism was *overtly* irreligious and killed tens of millions more people than the Nazis.

Islam has a similar history of oppressing other religions, only that practice extends into the *modern* world, unlike Christian inquisitions.
I bet you wouldn't say anything against a Muslim MP though, would you?

I agree with the article-it is neither "biased" or "Christophobic", but identifies a self-justifying, denialist and obnoxious colonising and crusading tendency both on the Liberal side (Abetz?) and within sections of the ALP, represented by social conservatives like Sen. Don Farrell.
These people have elevated themselves to the role of sole arbiters of what should be right and wrong and remain more determined than ever to impose their vision on others, regardless of even of reasonable objections to their program and methods.

Look in the mirror, Mr Progressive.
