Abbott on the edge : Comments

By Bruce Haigh, published 26/10/2012

Wed this to his conservative Christian beliefs and he becomes a crusader, using religion as a shield from criticism and to mask his real persona.

I would suggest that the very title of his book, namely Battle Lines sums up his attitude. As does the contents of the book too.

I would suggest that Bruce has hidden behind his own Christophobic nature in order to vent his disdain and dislike for the next likely PM.

Bruce writes in the usual leftist sarcastic tone

'Men and women aspiring to high office should, amongst other things, be judged by the company they keep. ' And your friends Bruce? Gillards friends (Wilson?) Deveny? Thomson? Your inference Bruce is merely slime.

Don't forget the ABC and leftist comrades have had their fair share of child molestors, child porn addicts and that it was the feminist PM who supported Slipper.

Its fine for you to hate Abbott Bruce but don't hide behind your intellectual bias in order to assasinate character. Abbott has kept his vow to his wife and children unlike most. Then again you might well call that a woman hater.

Bruce,

A well elucidated article on the vacuous button-pushing style of Mr Abbott.

runner,

Why do you ascribe "Christophobia" (whatever that is) and hatred to people with whom you disagree?

- employs scathing personal attacks in lieu of policy proposals and initiatives
- has played fast and loose with the truth
- seeks to create and often succeeds in creating a confected uproar
- would bring to bear what had proved so magnificently effective before: fear, confusion and scorn
- How close will he (she) get to the United States to shore up his (her) political power?
- is a strange and complex individual; all of these complexities are contained in a person who has had very little life experience
Question one, who are we talking about here?
Question two, any details about the ban on abortion, or is this another play to the ladies in the gallery?
Question three, aside from swooning whenever POTUS is in town, what does Gillard bring to the international stage?
Answer one, Gillard
Answer two, haven't heard about this but it smells like a red herring
Answer three, nothing
This article is pure ALP propaganda and fear-mongering. It's Abbott, after all is said and done, who has been in a stable marriage for over 20 years, who with his wife has raised three daughters, who employs a by-all-accounts capable woman as is chief of staff, etc. etc.

Given that the basis for the article is on an incident that supposedly occurred with no witnesses, and told decades later by someone who supposedly has form in making false accusations, then by the same token, we can talk about Juliar's active involvement in the fraud scandal that bilked the AWU.

Given Juliar's pathological inability to tell the truth, the REAL Julia is coming to the fore. I.e, the one that swore allegiance to Rudd whilst actively undermining him, the one that swore that there would be no carbon tax, the one that said there was an East Timor solution in the offing etc.

What a disingenuous article.

In the meantime Gillard has cogent and well substantiated claims about her past actions as a solicitor to answer.

And now as well as files going missing from her former employer, Slater and Gordon, the counterpart documents are missing from a government department.

Due process and the operation of the law is being undermined in this country by the Gillard government and all we can get is the same b......t about Abbott who appears to have led an exemplary life.
