Thanks for an informative article Daniel. Bankrolling of politicians by big corporations the world over is a major cause of democracy failing and until this practice is curtailed the slide will continue. Surely it can't be that difficult to legislate against it?

Thank heavens for John Boehner and those who support him, financially or otherwise. The global warming scam has consumed bilions of taxpayers dollars all over the world, so it's good to see people and companies fighting back.

By the way, suggesting anything the NWF does is bi-partisan is a bit like suggesting Wayne Swan is a supporter of the Liberal Party. The NWF is an extremist green activist organisation.

Greenpeace has been raking in around $350 million dollars every year since 2003, and spending it on pursuing its goals, including lobbying governments in the US and elsewhere, but there seems to be a significant lack of outrage over that. Let a few industries try and defend themselves, though...

Actually this looks like a fair system.

After all the wind/solar alternative industry is funding Obama's campaign, but of course this is only after he has given billions of tax payer dollars to them in the first place.

Still at the rate they are going bankrupt, no amount of payola will save these ill conceived businesses, even if the yanks are silly enough to reelect him.

That prospect is less likely after the first debate. Obama has been found to be a bit of a twit, without someone putting the words in to his mouth.
