A soccer mum on women's sport : Comments

There are many reasons why women's sport doesn't cut it like men's sport.

...I agree with Laura Maynard that soccer should the lead football code to promote women into the game. Obviously soccer is more suited to the participation of women as a priority, than the other more heavily involved contact codes of league, AFL and union.

...Hockey and basketball have long been a leaders in the assimilation of women into their games, and for parents with female children who participate in them, they often share in the exhilarating moments of physical achievements of their girls.

...Sadly, participation in sport for girls is available from an all too narrow field, and is crippling the scope of achievement available to our physically capable girls, which will allow them to excel in sports generally, and to maintain an interest in building a foundation for a healthy, active and social life in the future.

Masterchef I believe is at least one place where women compete on equal terms.
