Bogainville ought to be allowed to secede, without any further unnecessary delay. The debacle currently being played out in Port Moresby underscores that. Our only real role, I believe, is to ensure that free and fair elections take place when they are due?
We should ensure that we have enough observers and choppers in place to virtually guarantee just that outcome. Our aid budget is sufficiently large to ensure this happens? Who was it that said, and I paraphrase, we should always advocate peace, but carry a big stick. Rhrosty.
