Nice piece, Jim!

This is the time of year when we're allowed to have grin about ourselves and our seriousness. I like the bag of coal metaphor, too.

…Well Jim, This article proved to be an interesting source of knowledge. It led down a trail, through “Google”, into your blog site. Being pleasantly “bogged” there for some time, followed a link further, and have (metaphorically) this minute, returned from Bhutan, where the smoking population are being incarcerated for lengthy periods for possession of tobacco in excess of a few packets, and for chewing of tobacco it appears.

…Well, my Christmas wish, (and in keeping within the bounds of the article “Santa’s coal, et al), Is to reconstruct a past where cheaper power, as a consequence of the huge resources available to Australians as the windfall it should be, returns. But of course, vested interest groups have decided in their minority view, to inflict on the population their bigoted opinions, that burning coal is ultimately more unhealthy than sitting in front of cold heaters in winter, forced on many unfortunate in our communities as an alternative way to pay for soaring power bills; freeze.

…I support the views in your well written blog, covering the fall-out from the live cattle trade with Indonesia, a few months ago now. And offer the opinion that the same strange contagion which afflicts the agitators of the live cattle trade, as synonymously infecting those who wish to decry the benefits of coal fired power stations, as an efficient and economical fuel for the supply of cheap electrical power, to stop the nonsense of deconstructing our society, and attempt to gather some understand of the misery being inflicted on sections of the population least able to afford to participate in their absurdity.
