Alex Perrottet,
“If there is one thing worse than the modern weakening of major morals, it is the modern strengthening of minor morals. Thus it is considered more withering to accuse a man of bad taste than of bad ethics.'' G.K. Chesterton.
How coincidental!
Online Opinion today has offered us a sample of major and minor morals:
John Pilger reminding us of the disregard of major morals by the rulers of this planet and Helen Pringle wasting our time with the minor morals of TV puppets.
I wonder if G.K. Chesterton would consider changing the term ‘moral’ with the term ‘genocidal’ were he to see the state of the world now.

This puts me in mind of the media run-up to the invasion of Iraq: Only if you used the internet would you know that major doubts about all the "reasons" for it, the WMD lies, the "regime change" furphy (why arm and support the guy if he was so evil? Why not an assassination instead of mass killings?). The Oily elephant was rarely, if ever mentioned.
The recent pandering to massively profitable miners to the detriment of the nations finance, the constant praise for conservative minorities, the extreme political bias...etc.
