"If there's a silver lining out of the US recession, it's that it's raised plenty of interesting questions for academics to answer. Many economists would prefer a second fiscal stimulus package; but for now, the research findings will have to be our solace".

I wont be holding my breath waiting, but maybe you can try and answer them?

Perhaps as an economist you could explain what the "policy mistakes that prolonged the Great Depression of the 1930s" were that you believe the Tea Party (which had no impact on Congress until 2011) is causing? Do you refer to raising taxes in 1932? Increasing the national debt from 20% GDP to 40% GDP under Hoover? Intrusive state regulation and bashing private business under Roosevelt?

I don't think the Tea Party is forcing America to repeat these mistakes.
