By Houston Ash, published 26/9/2011

Whilst over forty years of occupation has certainly been a tragedy for Palestinians, it has also been poisonous for Israel.

Of course the solution is to have only countries which make no distinction among its citizens on the basis of ethnicity and religion and have separation of religion and state. No Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist countries. Unfortunately most countries are not like that, and I think that in most of those countries the people do not want a pluralist society.

Given both protagonists are fanatical believers in GOD who has made no effort to untangle the "Mess" he left behind isn't it time to examine the bonifides of this guy called GOD ?

Houston stated....

"This is a fellow (Avigdor Leiberman) who campaigned under the slogan no citizenship without loyalty, and promised his supporters that he would force Arab citizens to sign oaths of fidelity to the Jewish State".

As much as I dislike everything about Leiberman, on a par with Netanyahu, we should perhaps take a leaf out of his book and implement such a "loyalty policy" in Australia. The dual-passported brigade have little, if any allegiance to Australia and are guilty of crimes against this country that foolishly accepted them on a two passport arrangement.

What an anachronism and still going on to this day, often writers in these columns.

The stolen Australian passports, election funding rorts, all the tricks of the trade, the hasty return back to their 'real home' by so many after the entrepreneurial crimes of the 80's, all acts which would be sheeted home to a lack of loyalty and commitment to this country.

Based on the Leiberman dictate in Israel, which virtually states that you cannot serve two masters, Arabs must sign an 'Oath of Fidelity to The Jewish State'. In their own country? Hardly.

Therefore, when given an Australian passport, the Zionists should be compelled to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Australian state.

Should be mandatory

Houston Ash,

We all know that there are idiots screaming in every crowd ... as we know there are idiots who always screech OLO when the word "Israel" appears on a topic. ... "all sound and fury signifying nothing" between the ears.

There are many Jewish/Arab organisations, as well as pro-Palestinian in Israel.

Do look at the following two sites which provide a general look at Israel:

Israel21
http://www.israel21c.org/

Green Prophet
http://www.greenprophet.com/

We all hope that extremist groups do not take over in Israel, it would be a tragedy.

One can only live and hope that pressure from within
Israel will eventually bring both the Israelis and the
Palestinians to sit down (not listen to the extremists on
both sides) and talk face to face about resolving the situation
that currently exists and aim for a permanent peace.

This must surely be the wish of all the people living in
this region. Most people living in the region
must surely by now be sick and
tired of this on-going conflict.
