Australia needs to be careful not to play Tonto to the US Lone Ranger in south east Asia.

China, Vietnam and Taiwan all claim sovereignty over huge areas of the sea, including the Paracel and Spratly island groups. The Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei also claim overlapping areas of territory.This is about oil in the region. I don't think Australia should involve in this problem.
