Plato suggested that a truly civilised society would identify ‘the best people’ and put them in charge of things. These ‘guardians’ would bring about good government: have they done so on the carbon tax?

And of course Diogenes the Cynic would have had the exact opposite view of the Ruling Class to the establishment philosopher Plato.

He'd probably think that only a truely uncivilised society would identify 'the best people' and put them in charge of things or he probably would not agree society could be truely civilised.
