Palestine: FIFA relents but rules are still bent : Comments

By David Singer, published 7/6/2011

FIFA has been in the media spotlight this week as its practices and procedures have come under increasing scrutiny and its conduct has become of great concern to many of its member countries.

'That is what my article addresses'.

What your article addresses reflects a vindictive nature. The fact that there are technically no borders will eventually be to Palestine's advantage, hopefully in September.

'I guess that would be expecting too much of you all'.

As Australians, we have some failings, yes. But Australians, that is people either born here, or with one loyalty to this country and with our own country's interests at heart and certainly bearing no allegiance to any other country but Australia, we generally believe in a fair go, contrary to what Israel ever believed in and which does not include vindictiveness, hatred and the control of other nations by force.

Goyims we ain't, regardless of what your Rabbis state.

You start off on your anti-FIFA exercise but turn it qickly into a self-promotional effort of....aren't I clever...I have stuck it up FIFA's nose, made them acte on my demands, made it difficult for Palestinians to play soccer (at the moment), shown yet again how unpleasant I am as a person and how dedicated I am on behalf of my masters.

You must be scoring some points, somewhere, but not here in Australia.

Read the comments. You isolate yourself by your own rhetoric, not of interest to Australians. Do an article for the AJN. They're all probably like-minded. .

We are fair-minded people. Mr. Singer. There's the basic difference.

Like those who responded before you, there appears to be no disapproval or acknowledgement by you of FIFA's action in falsely declaring Palestine to be a country - and still continuing to do so despite the omission of some deceptive and misleading material.

This is the very essence of propaganda - creating and repeating false facts over and over again to influence public opinion.

You state:

"We are fair-minded people. Mr. Singer."

Fair minded people cannot possibly condone FIFA's deception and misrepresentation that has been allowed to go unchallenged for the past 12 years. At least FIFA has had the decency to partly fess up to its conduct. You haven't

Why don't you argue that Israel is on the Asian continent and should have no right to play in the UAEFA league or any other European competition?

I guess a 'exceptional situations' are only ok when they apply to Israel.

Maybe next time you could write an article about Jewish thugs shouting down elected representatives of Australian Parliaments on talkshows like Q & A last night. It would be a lot more relevant to Australian audiences than your manic obsession with wiping Palestine off the map.

You - like those ranters before you - refuse to express an opinion on FIFA's action in using false and misleading material on its website.

FIFA is not one of the thousands of rabid Jew-hating sites spewing out false information on the Arab-Jewish conflict. When FIFA descends to such a low level - its conduct needs to be exposed and efforts made to get it to delete the offensive material.

Do you condone FIFA's behavior or don't you? Do you believe in the propagation of false information on the internet?

Spending your time discussing these issues would prove more beneficial than trying to raise other issues that have no relevance to the subject matter of my article.

Mr Singer,

The commenters on this thread "got" the gist of your message loud and clear.

Any so-called "conduct" by FIFA pales in comparison to the real issue here.

"FIFA relents but rules are still bent."

What rules were bent admittingn Israel to the OECD?

What rules are bent to allow Israel to ignore UN resolutions?

What about the Eurovision Song Contest? OK, let them sing while the Palestinians play soccer. Don't get too petty, Peter.
