Campbell Newman's audacity is just what might get him over the line.

...Just consider Labor brand as so deplorable, the LNP can simply write their own ticket; (Newman is the evidence to that theory in test mode).

There are a few things wrong with Campbel Newman's tilt at premier.

First, the deal where he is a leader in waiting - unelected- hoping to be leader of the opposition by remote control, is so seriously weird and wrong it is hilarious.

Second, he is Brisbane centric, moaning about a floating walkway getting trashed in the floods and demanding Fed money to pay for it. How many Brisbanites actually get to use it, let alone the rest of Queensland? Money is being spent in the SE corner, particularly Brisbane, to provide services and infrastructure that regional and remote Qlders have never even dreamt of. Campbell makes sure he puts his hand up for the lions share.

Third, Daylight saving. In his Brisbane centricism, he may well try to force Daylight savings onto the rest of Qld, thereby giving real momentum into splitting the state in 2.

Fourth, Anna Bligh has handled the disasters that have hit Queensland (not just the SE) very well. People up north and out west do not forget that the LNP were absent during these disasters except to try to play politics. In the recent floods in Cardwell, Anna was there the day after, as she was informed that she wasn't hearing the full story from the official sources.

Fifth, and most importantly, he actually has to get elected.

Oh come on Aka, all she did was media talk, & photo opportunities.

Not only that, she turned all the money donated to the appeal over to a couple of bureaucrats to play pass the parcel with. No one, no matter how badly in need, was getting anything.

Typical Labor, & Beattie/Bligh management, just another stuff up.

To the contrary Hasbeen,
Anna spoke to many ordinary people and, knowing some of the people she spoke to, she would have been told straight that things are tough. There was no photos.

I was impressed with Anna especially when, on top of the devestation Yassi caused, Cardwell flooded recently as the local council was downplaying it and making out they were doing a wonderful job. When Anna was informed, via ABC radio, that all was not as it seemed she was here the next day and it was still flooding and totally miseable conditions.

Even if people don't like her politics, she has done a great leadership job during the disasters. During the flooding and Yassi the only thing we saw of Langbroek was a bit part on 'Talking bout your generation'. The LNP was pathetic.

Bob Katter, independant, was also on the ground helping where he could. He also did a great job for his constituents. But the LNP were nowhere to be seen.

When the chips are down, and things get really ugly, Anna Bligh has shown she is a real leader - for all Queensland.
