NSW Labor is not nearly as bad as it is made out to be.

A fair assessment of Labor's time in office. There are successes the party can point to, but Labor seems strangely reluctant to discuss their record at both a state and federal level.

However, the current government is unelectable, and not just because of the "It's time" factor. The incoherent public transport policies are the greatest disappointment of Labor's time in office. Also, the perception of corruption and nepotism has almost destroyed the party brand. Then there's the issue of electricity privatistion, which ripped Labor apart for over a decade.

However, the governement is not, contrary to some media reports, leaving NSW in a state of third world anarchy. Our hospitals, schools, roads etc are working adequately, and who honestly expects the Libs to offer any improvements in these areas?

Labor will lose. They should take the opportunity to rebuild the party and to focus on its core social democratic values.
