Is this how politics is really done? A story of a Liberal pitch for the Sydney gay vote.

It was ambitious for Garry and his friends to expect any other results from such a meeting.

In Tony Abbot we have a person who would not even have been aware of the East Sydney climate. As for something as important as Gay freedoms and equality, if it wasn't on the agenda for his regular meetings with Georgie Pell in fantasyland, then the subject would be completely out of his orbit.

Sadly, Abbott, regarded as being well schooled (but years of wasted religious study), is a grossly incapable leader, meandering around with his head on the clouds through which he may, on odd occasions, be able to recognise what it is he is seeing, but certainly not able to determine what it all means to the average person. Very poor comprehension. A joke in political circles, a leader by one vote on a hostile subject (a lot worse now) and as a Prime Minister he would make Australia a laughing stock around the globe.

Surrounded by his loyal buddies (with a desire to keep their seats) he flounders around with ill-considered half answers, a push bike and an empty look.

So the reality and justifiable concerns of the Gay world would not rank too highly, taking advice from the likes of Heffernan and the arch conservatives in his party, with little social conscience or understanding of real life, Gay expectations or fairness.

His background isolates him from such realities.

Because of Abbott, the compromised Gillard enjoys little real intelligent opposition, so we all live with the dismal reality of Federal Labor, every day. Gillard's failed policies by the score, left today, right tomorrow, no foreign affairs skills, disasters that have cost us multi-millions and a hopeless Prime Minister thanks to the Melbourne Zionists who are being repaid with Australia's vote at the UN to further their evil ambitions in the Middle East.

Quid pro quo! Who ever said that politics was honourable? But a foreign country?

Abbott purchased the wine, possibly all you will ever get from him.

So be thankful for small mercies.

For such highly qualified men, I am surprised by such a juvenile response. Major negotiating gains are seldom made by two firm allies.

Labor is so scared of losing its more conservative working class voters that they are effectively mirroring the Libs policies on gay marriage etc. Tony Abbott might not be the flag bearer for gay rights, but his electorate is the single biggest obstacle to change, and TA has their ear.

While they have maintained their dignity and had an opportunity to stick it to TA, they have squandered an opportunity that probably will not present itself again for a decade.

I've got some troubling news for you Garry...

while some gullible, weak willed and spineless people have surcumbed to the pressure of the violent gay lobby in it's brutal activism toward the American Psychological Association...intimidating it into changing it's findings about homosexual orientation being a clinical developmental disorder......

Others of us.. are not.

The research is there:

http://www.narth.com/docs/normalization.html
The factors that determined the decision of the APA to delete homosexuality from DSM-II were summarized as follows:

1. Gay activists had a profound influence on psychiatric thinking.
2. A sincere belief was held by liberal-minded and compassionate psychiatrists that listing homosexuality as a psychiatric disorder supported and reinforced prejudice against homosexuals. Removal of the term from the diagnostic manual was viewed as a humane, progressive act.
3. There was an acceptance of new criteria to define psychiatric conditions. Only those disorders that caused a patient to suffer or that resulted in adjustment problems were thought to be appropriate for inclusion in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

Notice point ONE.. now read this:

INTIMIDATION.
Led by radicals like Frank Kameny, same-gender sex activists attacked many psychiatrists publicly, as Newsweek describes, “But even more than the government, it is the psychiatrists who have experienced the full rage of the homosexual activists. Over the past two years, gay-lib organizations have repeatedly disrupted medical meetings, and three months ago—in the movements most aggressive demonstration so far—a group of 30 militants broke into a meeting of the American Psychiatric Association in Washington, where they turned the staid proceedings into near chaos for twenty minutes. ‘We are here to denounce your authority to call us sick or mentally disordered,’ shouted the group’s leader, Dr. Franklin Kameny, while the 2,000 shocked psychiatrists looked on in disbelief. ‘For us, as homosexuals, your profession is the enemy incarnate. We demand that psychiatrists treat us as human beings, not as patients to be cured!’” (Newsweek, 8-23-71, p.47)

So... it is NOT normal, and should not be accepted as such.

Hey Al, in the interests of fair play, I felt it only right to point out some truths about your 'source' of the rubbish you spouted above.

"NARTH was founded in 1992 as a "non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the research, therapy and prevention of homosexuality." It currently consists of "more than 1,000 mental-health professionals...This number represents a small percentage of the total number of mental health professionals; the American Psychological Association alone has over 132,000 members...The vast majority of its members are believed to be from the conservative wings of Christianity and Judaism."
http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_nart1.htm

If Tony Abbott were also a mental health expert, I have no doubt at all that he would be a member of NARTH.

Only in America!

AlGOREisRICH

A courageous and brave stand Al. Keep that flag fluttering!
I’ll lay down my arms when the “sicko” gay mardi-gras is outlawed! What a huge embarrassment to Sydney and its residents it is!
