By Charlie Hill-Smith, published 14/12/2010

It's time for Australia to step up for our tortured and murdered neighbours to the north in West Papua.

As I stated spare the crap for those who are gullible.

Aid differs greatly from massive funding spent on programs and projects over 30 years to get your country up and running in the first place.

Aid/assistance during times of your earthquakes, cyclones and tsunamis are entirely separate.

You are not in the know regarding funding and Australian support, or you would never have made the previous false statements. Further, its a slap in the face to hard working Australians with our taxes who fed and clothed many of your people throughout our hard working lives.

The issue is all of the lives taken over a long period of time in West Papua HIDDEN from the world.

Q: How would the criminals feel if their children and families were massacred in the same way?

A thought for those responsible - criminals and low life scum.

Not War Criminals, given during war some people had the defence supplies to fight back.

These innocent victims, the West Papua families, did not have contact with other people nor weapons to defend themselves; the lowest of low.

May the faces of West Papua children haunt those responsible for the rest of their lives and after death.

@we are unique:

As I said, Australia is not the sole source, or even the major source of foreign aid, funding, or disaster aid to Indonesia. We received most of our aid from fellow Asian countries such as Japan or China. They never attempted to interfere in our sovereigen domestic affairs. What give Australia the right to do so? What's so special or unique about Australia compared with Japan or China?

We are not going to give-up our sovereign rights gained via the ultimate sacrifices of our heroes in exchange for some paltry aid from Australia. No country will. It's neither a fair nor sensible exchange.

"Further, its a slap in the face to hard working Australians with our taxes who fed and clothed many of your people throughout our hard working lives."

Feeling offended? Well, don't you think we will feel offended if some foreigner start interfering in our affairs, slandering us with sundry false accusations, and devaluing the lives of our people, and even seek to force us to give immunity to murderers who seek the destruction of our country established by the sacrifices of our heroes?

In any case, when exactly does Australia "fed and clothed" or "set-up our country"? We are not PNG who were Australian colony. What advances we have made today is due to our own effort and endaveour. We set-up our own country and start a political and economic system from practically scratch in 1945 onwards (out from the ashes of World War II and war of independence) and have defeated many internal and external attempts to destroy us. We never get any free lunch.

"May the faces of West Papua children haunt those responsible."

LOL, I think West Papuan children like laughing as any other children.

Let us see the faces of Lisa Rumbiak (ethnic-Papuan who are three-times Olympic medallist), Boas Solossa & Oktovianus Maniani (Indonesian national soccer team players), and the many Papuan civil servants and tribal chiefs who benefitted materially from Special Autonomy. I think they will be laughing their way to the bank.
