"Without global targets and standards, all this may not be enough to head off climate change. But action is needed..."

Sorry, you can't have it both ways. If the aim is to 'stop climate change' then we are all wasting our time and the best option is to petition the government to make cyanide pills available via Medibank. If the aim is to reduce waste and pollution and make the world a better place, then that's great -- keep up the good work. But don't try and drum up support by appealing to a process which is either totally mythical or completely unstoppable; either way it's no use as a motivator.

This article is an apt demonstration of the inability of "climate activists" to distinguish between:

1.Pollution - which we all want to reduce,
2.Energy efficiency - which we are all keen to achieve and
3.Carbon Dioxide/Global warming issue which is not only completely discredited but was fundamentally a UN effort attempt to promote developing countries economic push and pull the reins on Western dominance.

Lets get on with LED bulbs, efficient motor vehicles etc but let's not pretend we are saving the planet. We are simply learning to deal with the ever growing demands for energy due to population increase and increased demand for improved standard of living in developing countries.

Our hoodwinked scientists need to hang their heads in shame or resign
after supporting a near successful international scam which would have established a totalitarian power as the dominant world economy and the UN as a defacto director of trade.

PS Stay tuned for the collapse of the Carbon Trading bubble.

I agree that we should follow the example of China and India.

However, what RSR failed to mention is that both India and China are also doing is installing huge quantities of nuclear power stations.

These are still the single cheapest, best and safest source of GHG free electricity.

Does this bloke really believe this rubbish, or does he just hope we will.

China as the good guy, my god. They are increasing their coal fired power capacity so fast, that each 3 months theirs grows by our total capacity.

As he obviously still believes CO2 is bad, I wonder just which orifice he's talking through.
