America is no exception to the misuse of party system in a democracy. Trump who was impeached in the house of representatives has been acquitted in the senate. Does that mean that the house of representatives made a mistake? Is it not an irony that truth varies according to the party. This is the tragedy of party system created by the so called democratic concept. As long as party system exists there is no escape from such flaws. In fact the multi party system has come as a death blow to truth and honesty. What nonsense is this party system and elections that cannot establish truth? Elections should be fought only by individuals without any party affliations and not by party candidates.
Let us not live in fool's paradise for ever.

Dear Ezhil,

Not at all. Trump was of course guilty as hell as recognised even by many Republicans.

The question was whether the crimes were of the required magnitude to evict a sitting president. This is where it came down to party lines. Of course the gravity of the offense would be judged differently by those in the same party as the president compared to those who weren't.

That his crimes were not deemed sufficiently egregious by the majority of Republicans does not absolve him of anything.

SteeleRedux,
Nor does it vindicate the Democrats for their venom-laden vindictiveness !

The intelligentsia should be able to prevail upon the mediocre fools to set right follies in our social system. Nothing is perfect from the start. Continuous evolution towards a better system is needed. In this respect it is seen that the present multi party system has not contributed to any worthwhile improvement in the social scenario. The party system has rather contributed only to favouritism, nepotism and
loyalty to the party at the cost of truth and honesty. As a result the democracy is derailed terribly. Lat us try to change the system so that such mishaps do not occur. Here it is important that the value system should be strengthened at domestic level as well as school and college level. Only then we can see some silver lining.
