Both the Beattie and Bligh governments were/are morally corrupt. This often leads to actual criminal corruption but, more importantly,it leads inevitably to incompetence.
This is the fundamental problem in Queensland. It is not helped by there being no Legislative Council and the most undemocratic voting system in Australia. We need proportional representation in both the Legislative Assembly and a reconstituted Council to allow more oversight of the executive and more checks and balances.

All this is just as likely as the the coal industry losing its "most favoured industry" status.

its the apathy folks
look 3 responses ...lol

were the only ones that even notice
[you think bligh dont realise that?]

even so we leave our quick point [then go away]..any newbie just waking up needs to ask questions..but dont because they dont understand what went down..they dont know govt voted one govt house out od egsistance[with no referendum,a nd yes it was labour that done it]

they dont realoise that the national party wholsale took over the labour party when joe got on the nose[theyt dont know the qld cobstitution got re written by the lawyer who represented joe in court;..beatie [who re-wrote the qld constitution into act 70 of 2002]

they dont know the law society and public service runs this cash cow boys club for its businness mate's dont know the shutdown of media in this state, dont know half the evil of lawyers making law then judging the law[dont know statute law applies only to public servants getting their powers from the act]

dont know we had the common law subverted into statuted law[dont know drug law is unconstituted[only able to be inforced because cops, make a contracted confession, then the judge simply enforces the contract..[20 out of 21 plead guilty..at first appearance..[mainly under advice from legal aid[who get $..250 for each guilty plea,

dont know a lawyer is a servant of the court..there to see the courts time dont get wasted..dont know a court is under law of trade, that the judge enforces and created tradable bonds..[traded as securities in the money market..[dont realise retaining a lawyer means we legally become wards of the court[ie lose our rights]

dont know qld is a registered company trading its corperate franchise..[us the people/chattles/slaves]..on the market..while bleeding us dry..in fiat money..we need to give our labours for..to obtain..to pay their fines levies registrations rents and tolls

What irritates me the most about our current administration is that it KNEW about the financial crisis when it went into election. Bligh and her colleagues were aware that things were pretty grim, but made their promises anyway. Surely they knew that these promises could not be kept? Not much has changed since the election.

What this means is that they deliberately lied to the people of Queensland when they went to the polls. They made statements that they KNEW were incorrect, but made them anyway. Surely there is some sort of law against this?

The alternative is, perhaps, even worse. The government was so complacent about the crisis that they chose not to do any number crunching before they threw those promises at us. In that case, we have voted an incompetent and ignorant government back into power.

When I say 'we', I don't include myself. I didn't vote Labor. These days, not too many people I know are willing to say they did, either. If they are telling the truth, then perhaps we need to conduct a recount of votes? I live in a city divided into three electorates, and Labor won all three, despite a fair cross section of the population denying voting for them. Interesting . . .

otokonoko>>..they deliberately/lied to ..made statements that they KNEW were incorrect,..Surely..there is some..law against this?>>..it wouldnt make any difference if there was...there isnt any court that would/could rule on it.

teqniclly..we can appeal to/the queen..via the gov general, which simply would be ignored..[or deemed vexatious or frivilous]..or dispute the returns at the electoral-commision,..again not much will be achieved..[as both parties will have signed off on the vote tally]

i attended the vote-counting procress at a ryan by-election..[the only scruteneers in evidence were lab/liberal..[no other parties watch the vote count]..so they can much do anything they like

we could try to complain to the media..[but they are so few and so sold out the letter wouldnt get past the editor]..there isnt much we can do but run in an election/and try to get voted in by the people

[but if by chance you get voted-in..there is nothing one elected rep can do..[in fact they get told that]..and next they start giving you the run arround,..info overload,..and hundreds of other petty anoyances,..to the end result few run a second term

the minute anyone begins a political/campain..[that is getting traction, the system sends in one of theirs to keep an eye on you..[your best, most helpfull supporter just happens to fail to do some important thing..[like get your nomination in before the closing date,or release a dumb memo/statemennt,or media classifies some statement you never made..[or ignores your campain alltogether]..

the list gets endless..[thats why i have given up..on all but blogging about the beast]..im even failing to see any value in continually exposing their trechery/treason..

i guess..we get the govt we deserve..they/we say..look at the poor quality of polititions..[we should be thankfull we dont need to deal with the vipers]...

yep..there is no excuse for broken promises..[but they also are never made to deliver..or held to account]..go sit in parliment some time..[there is only..[about]..twenty seats in the gallery..and their never full]..

most of the time/parlimnent only has the speaker and the chair in it at any rate..[its just the same with fed politics]..so much for quorum..[but we couldnt even raise a quorum..in this post either..lol..]
