This review wanders in to an un reasonable attachment of issues as being of the “Left” or of the “Right”. The fact that because Watson was Keating’s biographer does not in itself cause a conclusion that Watson is therefore “thoroughly against the Howard government”. The ramblings continue with Watson complaining “predicatbly about causes such as………”
The issues singled out more define Watson as member of a coalition of Australians who cross political party, religious, and ethnic lines. Most of these people would be appalled to receive the label for the same reason that Lawson attaches it to Watson.
Watson does give unreasonable credit to Americans (one only has to listen to most US government leaders ans US military spokespeople to rate them as the worst offenders ).

A good book, and a not so balanced review
