"Small tax cuts and one off payments are never going to deliver opportunities for low income families to take part in the Australian community and are a long way from creating an inclusive society touted by Julia Gillard and the Federal Government."

So very true Dr Cleary; you must understand however, sir, that such seemingly decent acts and promises are NEVER INTENDED to create 'an inclusive society'.

"Through closer partnership with the community sector, the government can tap into vast wisdom and experience to help shape, implement and evaluate social policy designed to create a truly inclusive and prosperous society."

Again, good sir, "a truly inclusive and prosperous society" is the very LAST thing our senior 'people's representatives' and 'executive' Public Managers strive to achieve. This is because that would mean socialism, and they and their paymasters very definitely will NEVER countenance such a preposterous notion.

Capitalism is a POLITICAL Economy that divides society into two antagonistic socio-economic classes - the Haves and the Have-nots; the latter being those whose labours produce the (common-)wealth of the nation and the parasitic minority who expropriate (STEAL) the surplus value (profits) for themselves.

For the 2.5million Australians you cite (AND several million more debt-burdened middle class citizens about to join them on the margins of society) life is set to become MUCH more burdensome as this anti-social, anti-democratic, globalised system descends into yet another 'crisis'.

Trouble is, each time History repeats itself the Price goes Up!

The Australian worker should expect when government signals tax cuts, it will actually line the pockets of business and enterprise.

Government departments are also enterprising and inclined to raise their charges to administer your well being.

Its easy to give away someone else money, especially when it is the tax payers of Australia and politicians who presumes to have a mandate to do so.

Expect that by the time business has taken their presumed cut of extra income in the economy, you end up out of pocket, paying out more than before it.

Tax payer beware of how many snouts we have in the trough.
