I'm with Archbishop Sabbah on this one. Anything less than the right to return for Palestinian refugees is an acceptance of the genocide committed and being committed against the palestinian people.

Benedict's machinations and supplication to Israel won't change that.

Passy, please explain what you mean by "genocide" of Palestinians?

In 1948 there were about 700,000 Arabs in what is now Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. Now there are about 4 million people and the birth rate is high.

In addition Arab culture is alive and well including a university.

Makes sense.

The Catholic Church is moving backwards towards a desruptive and racist greater Jewish Israel when the rest of the world is apparently moving toward an inclusive peace in the mid east.

Truely typically Catholic. Don't these commentators recognise the incongruity and irrelevance of an organisation dominated by single celibate males who try to impose their sexual beliefs in the bedrooms of couples across this world.

Now they want to take the mid east back to biblical times ... New Testament biblical times. Truely a relevation.
