Western and Chinese coverage of Tibet underline the difference in our respective world views.

Non-Violence must be something we discuss endlessly over the next few weeks.

As we saw with 2007 APEC even if just one person has the intent to make a show of violence the MESSAGE of the Tibetan people is lost.... as the media and the police run to self-adjust the perspective, making ALL the GOOD EFFORTS of most, left uncredited.

We loose the game through Violence….

If UNITY is a common goal, be it for Tibet (who like many Australians want and hope for autonomy – progressively as Australia toward a Republic-one day –perhaps?), than UNITY must be a strategy, in what we do to HELP make our humanitarian point.

ABC’s crew, ‘War on Everything’ together with many others, gave us example of politically-emancipation through APEC... our best National and Diverse set of Demonstrations in Australia, for many years.

Given ALL the young people
Given ALL the Elder people and
the entirety of Agenda's,
that rose moments in that day. I felt proud of Australia, affronted…

When the Tibetan’s became 'so unheard' things happened that we do not entirely understand... and hence the International calls for the NEED FOR AN INVESTIGATION.

Our situation is different. We have a government who is concerned about the economic and cultural-political social wellbeing of the people in Tibetan, as well as the minorities of Chinese people and the people in Sudan and Darfur.

I felt sorry for the people of San Francisco, where more than 98% (of the demonstrators) on the street, intended a SOPHISTICATED-CREATIVE and OUTSPOKEN demonstration, and that FEAR of more VIOLENCE against the TORCH took that VOICE RIGHT AWAY FROM THEM.

FEAR ATTRACTS VIOLENCE and CREATES OFTEN A CYCLE OF MORE VIOLENCE.

I ask our national conversation to call for a public agreement, one discussed and made public, where Crime Prevention is considered as a means to analysis a shift toward the development and renewal of our citizenship, at the level of intentional critical thinking, between all friends meaning to take part in protesting-with-the-Torch-Relay.

Nine narrow minds do not rule a world of problem solvers.

China's Press and it's attempt to report the issues behind the Torch.

I want to reflect on a World Today report I heard today, that said while China is begining to report the incidences of the Torch, the Chinese reponse from the audience is that Westerners 'just want to distory their party'. The report rightlfully reflected that it is a 'nationalistic' response.

I want to say, under the circumstances this is quite natural. That there is an improvement.

I want to compare Australia. Our audience, when it comes to pride and how defensive we can be when something comes up that seems like the 'critical thinkers' are just trying to knock-out our own self-image, or ask us to rethink about how we see ourselves as a nation.

It is why freedom of press is so important. The ABC and SBS, the Editors of our Print-Web press and all the Have Your Say - Talk Back - On Line Opinion forums have done a lot for Australians,' as we have an open discussion on issues that we all need to understand.

Critical Thinking is essential if we are to solve problems as a Nation. Seeking to understand, as a citizens, a level playing field in the International forums.

There is always many-sides to a story, and unless we are able to debate - mirror - express - advocate, without violence, the views of the other side(s), we have no real right to promote our own side... given the arguement would be only one-sided.

Human Rights is an issue inside China. Are they discussing this? I don't know. This is because there is a lack of Transparency, in the way China has conducted the Tibetan situation.

As China continues to distort the value of this world focus on Tibet and Human Rights, she alienates herself from an opportunity to solving the problems together, with the rest of the world.

China fails to understand that we 'love China and we love Tibet' and this is what is hurting us ALL.
