By Nick Maley, published 13/2/2008

Regardless of how history will judge Bush, and regardless of how America votes, we should not expect a rapid withdrawal from Iraq.

I think George Bush did a pretty remarkable job.
He was only in a short time I recall when the planes hit the twin towers...and remember...he didnt fall to pieces. He went about doing what a good President needed to do.
We have to remember that a President is caught between many sometimes differing forces. The military wants this, the business guys want that, social people want this.
A weaker guy would have dithered.
His response to Islam was right.
He was fair with the greater number; and just to the evil side.
I give him considerable applause for a hard job well done.
The fact he lasted shows he was GOD's man for the job.
Love you George... without prejudice.

Unless some miracle happens, the invasion of Iraq has to be seen as a disaster for America. Regardless of the outcome now in Iraq, the invasion has demonstrated the limitations of US military power, it has weakened the US economy, it took vital resources away from the much more important theatre in Afghanistan and, most seriously, it has resulted in a diminution of America's moral authority in the world. The only good that could possibly come out of it would be if the US political classes could learn the lesson that a military intervention is NOT the way to win friends and influence people.

Bush went into Iraq to knock out Saddam's Sunnis to save the Iraqi Shias.

But after going into the fifth year, and failing in his final military surge, Bush had to forgive Saddam's Sunnis and put 'em on the US payroll, the main enemy now the Iraqi Shias he went in to save from the same Sunnis, as informed per favour to us per the Washington Post.

In fact, the illegal war has gone on for so long now it has got bloody boring, with spin and lies the order of the day for the global media with talented historians and academics all cast out as looney lefties.

Yep, certainly it seems that Bush is proving himself as not only God's man but a real modern neo-colonialist, proving that with the likes of Bush Blair and Howard the elitist ageing Angliphilia is still very much the order of day, but with only Bush left, the only thing now to save Iraq becoming a US possession, a modern Gandhi, or even a Mandela, or maybe a Rudd, the never you know, maybe even an Obama with Iran on his side.

I think people are in far too much of a hurry to cast judgment on George W. Bush. It will need the space of a decade or two to make anything like a reasoned judgment. An excellent example of this is the current verdict on Harry Truman. During the Korean War Truman's ratings fell below anything Bush has had to endure, but now Truman is looked back on as a significant president who achieved a lot during his term of office. A principal problem seems to be that the intelligensia is so far to the left that it simply cannot come to any reasoned conclusion about a politician from the right. Look at the case of captain Francis De Groot, who happens to be folk hero from the right, whereas most of our heroes are from the left. They still cannot discuss him dispassionately, and he rode into history 76 years ago.

Bush
the man who has created huge problems to USA. Never a USA president have had so low popularity in his country and worldwide as president Bush. For example 80% of Britain, 88% of Germans and Frances 92% of Turks are against the war in Iraq. Only Kenyan and Philippines Agreed with him. Never again USA did not violate, underestimate or isolate so hard internationally, as in UN, International Criminal Court, Kyoto Protocol, Human Rights- Guantanamo, etc.
President Bush is really a disaster for his country.
