The prob here is that it's a PR piece as the writer mentions his friends show four times in the most glowing terms. I presume this is because of the numerous comedy and fringe festivals happening across the nation.

This article could have been interesting if the writer had done more research and looked at the underbelly of stand up comedy in Australia - especially how up and coming females are treated by seasoned male performers.

I'm probably too old to understand this. But a "lady" used to be a female who was refined, well-mannered and tasteful.

Now, a "lady" is anything that's female.
