The Rushdie of the West: remembering Jean Baudrillard : Comments

By Scott Stephens, published 21/3/2007

Perhaps the most fitting monument to Jean Baudrillard's immense body of writing would be posthumously to rename it 'The Satanic Memories'.

If this article provides a reasonable sample of Baudrillard's thought then I won't be rushing to the library for his books. I confess I don't have a clear grasp of what was said, and didn't struggle too hard in my impatience of the genre. Once I may have thought that is because I am stupid. Now indeed I am more objective. Could the writer please provide a precis of the main points without piling up strings of clauses that make outrageous assertions. The emperor has no clothes.
