Ring gets sillier with every piece he writes: as silly as “land rights” and “symbolic victories” that cost the taxpayers millions.

Graham is right. On the Central Coast last year, the mob were givena large parcel of land, and on the very same day they sold it to Mirvac for $45,000,000. It is now a golf course with housing. Last month they won a case that entitled them to a part of Wyong. So no one is doubting for a moment the reality of the situation, it is not a joking matter

The WA Noongar decision if allowed to stand would cost taxpayers absolutely nothing. Appealling the decision will put millions of taxpayers $$ in the pockets of lawers - but to what end?

It is a silly article ,is it supposed to be sarcasm, comic book style?Or a serious indepth article. I think it is plain wacky.
Say we go along with Native Title and huge tracts are granted to the Aboriginal people who have no real claim except they are the descendants of a people who lived in this land when it was colonised.
How about another silly claim? To be equal, grant large tracts to the WHITE descendants of those who cleared ,settled, fought for and protected all Australians? NO? Exactly.

Actually no. The Noongar decision has already cost us a lot of money. Why? Because of the way the Native Title Act works, namely, that the Federal Court must determine Native Title applications, which in itself of a long and costly process, as Justice Wilcox noted in his judgment, if you care to read it. The Noongar decision is also a general decision, so it still remains to be determined over what parcels of land native title still exists: another long and costly process. The whole thing is a bore and another mess bequeathed to us by Keating.
