The ACF is of course a well known advocacy group. As such they are free to trot out their tired old antinuclear arguments, whenever the occasion presents itself. However, this does not mean that their opinions are valid. It is extremely doubtful that they have any real expertise in the economics of uranium mining.

The decision to invest money in a uranium venture is for industry and those prepared to invest their hard earned cash in the project. It is industry to decide if there will be a worth while return on investment. It is industry which will meet the cost of complying with regulations, health and safety requirements etc. I can not see how the ACF can make a useful contribution to this process.

At the same time one can be equally certain that ACF, FOE, Greenpeace et al will adopt a typically obstructive posture to any mining project.
