A good read, in the spirit of Senator Fulbright's The Arrogance of Power.

I fear for the American future. In another generation, when oil can no longer be provided at the price and in the quantities to which Americans have become accustomed; when global warming is biting savagely; when the population has increased from its present 295 million to about 365 million; when the disparity between the affluent and the rest of society has escalated in tune with present trends - how will presidential administrations deal with those who see that their starry-eyed aspirations can no longer be fulfilled?

Is the current administration's present arrogation of power to itself a mere taste of what is in store for the years ahead?
