'Tobacco Amendment Bill' a pious fraud : Comments

Boyd Fraser argues by allowing smoking in 'outdoor' venues which are in fact enclosed poses a health threat.

Boyd you are clearly spot on in your argument.

I am surprised that Victoria is taking this stance. Queensland, known historically for its parochial views on most things is way ahead on this one. The anti-smoking laws here are very strict, for example: no smoking outdoors within a few metres of food preparation, no smoking at or around entrances or exits of buildings, no smoking in parks or playgrounds where children are playing, no smoking on beaches between flags.

Most smokers don't seem to mind such restrictions. Sadly I am a smoker but I would never smoke in or near public places.

I am such a "goodie" smoker that when we have visitors for dinner I ask them if I can go outside for a cig.
