I am not sure where all the bitterness is coming from but lets face it

1 Governments are elected on the will of the electorate - you can decide not to vote or doodle to produce a "spoiled" vote - after having attended the voting station to be ticked off the list (actually I would prefer a free vote - non-compulsory attendance it is usually the people on the opposite side of politics to me who "don't care or bother")

As for the "final solution" (a deliberate but, none-the-less, inept choice of words) - assimilation - well it sure beats segregation and you cannot have it both ways... MLK would have walked from Weipa to Canberra in the name of assimilation - I doubt he would "don a thong" for the cause of ATSIC
